Welcome to the Physical-e-Fit Program!

This program is funded in part by the
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Physical-e-Fit Program was developed as a collaborative project between the AME church, the University of South Carolina, Department of Exercise Science, and the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Sara Wilcox, an Associate Professor of Exercise Science, has lead a talented team of professionals and students to develop and evaluate this program.

"...for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Take action and take care of your temple!

Rev. R.L. Brown
St. James AME
Physically active AME member.

I would first like to thank God for all those responsible for this website and the Health-e-AME initiative. May God continue to bless and keep you as your vision takes the nation and world by storm. I would also like to thank you for asking me to play a part. I am humbled as well as honored.

I would like for the record to reflect that I am thankful that we in the 7th Episcopal District are blessed to have a leader in Bishop Belin who is health conscious. I am totally for and support physical activity and I am physically active in a number of ways that range from lifting weights, playing basketball, to walking and jogging. I believe that we as pastors should not only be concerned about and with our members on a spiritual level but on a physical level as well. I not only encourage my fellow pastors to start a PA program but I challenge them to do so as I am in the process of starting one where I serve as pastor. The benefits of being physically active are numerous and my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ you can find a lot of information as well as ideas by visiting our site http://www.health-e-ame.com. Again I encourage all of my sisters and brothers in Christ to become physically active in some way shape or form. To encourage and inspire you I would like to call your attention to Philippians 4:13 which states "I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me!" (KJV)

Your brother in Christ: Rev. R. L. Brown
